Improved health and well-being. Increased fitness and flexibility, improved posture, balance and co-ordination, and learning to use your body in an efficient, relaxed way.

Self-confidence and stress management. Training in Aikido requires students to face and deal with conflict, not run away from it. Musubi Ryu has a focus on developing awareness of mental and physical tension patterns. Normal responses to conflict are fear and tension, these are recognised and replaced with a relaxed, proactive approach.

Self-defense. Techniques taught in Aikido do not require strength or size. However the ultimate self-defense is to read the situation and respond appropriately, minimising conflict
